前洋社区是双阳街道下辖的社区，位于街道东北部[2]。社区名称据传因前面小溪两侧原为平坦田地，宋元时期曾是一片汪洋而得名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期此地属晋江县四十一都。民国时其名为前洋保，隶属晋江县河市区；建国初属晋江县第三区[1]。1960年双阳建场后称前洋管区，2005年改设前洋社区居委会[1]。

社区情况[edit]

社区现下辖董厝、莲村、张厝、叶厝四个居民小组[2]。董厝居民多姓董，张厝以张姓为主，叶厝以叶姓为主，三个名称均由此而来[1]。
