肖厝社区位于北峰街道东北部，北面依双乳山，东邻清源山风景区，西面与南安市燎原村相邻。该地于19世纪80年代从群峰分出，2003年4月完成村改居。[1][2][4]

地名由来[edit]

据传早年肖姓人家在此建屋，故名肖厝。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此地属南安县丰州镇的伍堡。新中国成立初期归南安县丰州第九区西华乡；1958年划入北峰人民公社，设肖厝大队。[2]

1979年从群峰大队分出，设肖厝生产大队；1984年改设北峰乡肖厝村委会。2003年4月村改居，设肖厝社区居民委员会。[1][2]

姓氏[edit]

社区居民以蔡姓为多，其先人自晋江市青阳街道的五店市迁来。[1]

自然景观[edit]

社区背后有龙潭壁井，水流从高处直泻而下，成为瀑布。社区东西两侧的云雾、九峰两条石阶古道修建于明末清初。[3][4]

社区内有市级保护的一级古榕树，区政府页称为两棵、树龄550多年；博雅地名网与百度百科则作三棵。[1][3][4]

社区西边另有一棵被称作龙眼王的古树。[3][4]

荣誉[edit]

1998年，社区被评为福建省首批「精神文明新村」；1998年至1999年获泉州市委、市政府授予「文明村镇」；2006年获评「民主法治示范村（居）」。[1]

2021年11月，社区被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[2]
