北峰社区坐落在西湖的西北一带，是北峰街道下属的社区。它由北峰村于2003年改制而来，辖塔后、塔前、坑美三个自然村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代，这片土地属晋江县，分属棠荫里与爱育里两处。元明清三代则改编入晋江县三十九、四十、四十一都。[4]

民国年间，此地分别归西北镇与东北乡管辖。新中国成立后的1951年，它先划归泉州市，名为南台区与南台乡；1958年，北峰人民公社得以组建。1984年改为北峰村，2003年由村改社区。[2][4]

现状[edit]

社区占地约1.7平方千米，设9个居民小组。居住者中，常住人口为2110人，流动人口约6200人。[1]

社区内有街道办事处和派出所，也有北峰中学、北峰中心小学等学校，并设北峰工业区。[1][2]

产业上，陶瓷、树脂、包袋等行业已成为支柱，个体工商户的经营也有一定规模。[3]
