法花美社区隶属华大街道，位于国道324线边，背靠清源山脉，南面毗连华侨大学，北面与洛江区的万安街道接壤。社区名称取自此地原有的一座花园，属城乡结合区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，魏氏部分村民迁居此地繁衍，祖厝后有一座花园，花木繁茂，遂雅称「法花美」，又名「法下美」。[1]

清代此地归三十八都福林铺管辖；民国时期这里归东洛镇管，1950年起隶属晋江县第四区，此后改属第三区。1956年划入新生乡，1958年归东海公社，1961年成为城东公社的法花美大队。1984年改为法花美村，据百度百科当时改制为行政村；2003年随镇改街道、村改社区，改为法花美社区，设五个居民小组。[1][2][3]

2006年，社区被丰泽区评为「一流计生协会」，并获泉州市人民政府评为「文明社区」。[2]
