历史沿革[edit]
宋代此地属兴贤里；元明时期属晋江县三十四都；清代归柳通铺。[1]旧时的村庄因在古城西侧近郊，被叫作西郊。2003年4月30日，该村撤村建居，改称西宝：「西」取自西郊，「宝」则借「堡」字的谐音。[1][2]
地理与产业[edit]
社区辖有乌墩、忠堡、白水营三个自然村。[1][3]辖区内以五金、模具产业为主，形成产业集群。[1][3]
荣誉[edit]
福建省爱国卫生运动委员会在2022年12月将西宝社区命名为「2022年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
