名称由来[edit]
博雅地名网称，开基祖从丰州桃源乡迁到此地，见田地肥沃便定居耕作，由此得名。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
该地旧称南安县修文里二都大锦田乡。元朝时，南安县司训傅基孙由丰州桃源乡迁居大锦田乡，此后族人繁衍，至今已有680多年，部分族人又迁往山后、圳后、溪口、玉田等地。[1][2]
解放前属南安县岐山乡华岩保；土改后归南安县丰州区华岩乡。1958年改属泉州市江南公社，同华星、新塘、仙塘组成华星联社。1959年联社撤销，并入华星大队；1961年分出，建立锦田大队；1984年改为村委会。2003年村改居，改称锦田社区居民委员会。[1][2]

社区保存着传统舞狮技艺「锦田刣狮」，社区内还有民俗专家傅孙义。[1][2]
