王宫社区位于鲤城区江南街道的辖区内，社区范围包括上福、王宫、前墩三处自然村，面积0.79平方千米，名称取自王宫村。[1][2]社区东面与东浦社区相接，西面与霞洲社区相连。[4]2006年设立王宫社区居委会。[2]社区地处侨乡，华侨多旅居东南亚；王宫拍胸舞为非物质文化遗产项目。[1]

地名的来历是境内曾有一座王爷宫。[2]2006年，社区成立王宫社区居委会。[2]
人口与侨乡[edit]
鲤城区政府网社区简介载，此地常住居民约1000人，另有3000多名流动人口，该页未注统计年份。[1][3]华侨多旅居东南亚，留下了较多侨乡遗存。[1]社区出身的陈守仁，据百度百科，1930年生于王宫村，后在香港、塞班岛等地经营船务、制衣等业务。[6]
名胜古迹与非遗[edit]
社区内的王顺兴信局旧址，据百度百科为福建省第七批省级文物保护单位；1898年（清光绪二十四年），王世碑于马尼拉和王宫村两地创办王顺兴信局，经营侨汇业务。[5]王宫拍胸舞在2013年被请上央视春晚特别节目直播室，社区简介称它保存了古闽越族原生态的舞蹈形式。[1]泉州拍胸舞则于2006年被纳入国家首批非遗保护名录。[7]
李小炉与林子梅两处古民居，在闽南文化生态保护区（鲤城江南示范区）之内；社区另有王宫陈氏华侨历史博物馆与文阶堂故居纪念馆。[1]
