新春社区是开元街道下辖的社区，位于鲤城区北部。[2]博雅地名网称社区名来自新春街与新街两街的合并，其中新春街在建政时取新春佳节之意。[1]社区内有晋江县城隍庙，建筑景观中还述及威远楼。[2][3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

中华人民共和国成立初期此地属桐山区，建政时命名为新春街。[1]新春街与新街为兄弟街，1965年两街合并为新青街，1980年恢复原名新春。2002年，新街、新春两个居委会整合为新春社区。[1]

文化[edit]

2024年12月，社区上榜「2024年福建省儿童友好社区」名单。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

晋江县城隍庙俗称小城隍庙，位于小城隍庙巷，唐代已设，以韩琦为县城隍神供奉。1928年一度改作私立泉州中学校舍，1983年1月公布为文物保护单位。[3][4]

博雅地名网在本社区的建筑景观中述及威远楼：元至元九年建成，1969年被毁，1987年重建，现为泉州市文物胜迹陈列馆。[2]
