通政社区位于泉州古城西街与中山路两大历史街区之间的核心位置，与开元寺、南外宗正司两处申遗点相近。社区东边紧靠中山中路西侧，西边以旧馆驿东侧为界，南边在花巷北侧，北边到西街南侧。[1][2]

社区内有定心塔、苏廷玉故居、肃清门遗址等古迹，以及县城隍庙等文物。[1][2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，文革时此名改成永红街，1980年又改回通政。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

定心塔是通政一处古迹。据博雅地名网，此塔修建于明代万历年间，到乾隆十四年（1749年）又有过一次重修。塔体为五层五檐的楼阁式建筑，红砖砌身，外涂白灰，平面八角，高约4.5米。[2]

苏廷玉故居位于通政巷4号。据百度百科，该宅是清代四川总督苏廷玉之子苏士准在1842年买下的，鼎盛时期占地约9000平方米。[3]

肃清门遗址也在社区内。[1]

《泉州市市、县级文物保护单位实有名录》收有县城隍庙，年代为唐至清，列于通政社区。[4]
