临江街道位于泉州老城区的南端，越过晋江，南岸是江南街道与晋江市池店镇；东侧毗邻丰泽区，西侧与北侧接海滨街道。[1]辖区面积1.2平方千米，据2025年1月发布的街道概况，户籍有25359人，常住为18813人。[1]辖区内的天后宫和德济门遗址为全国重点文物保护单位，李贽故居、富美宫和顺济桥遗址为福建省文物保护单位。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

街名取自辖区濒临晋江的位置。[2]

1949年9月，此地仍属晋江县，为城区城南一区。[3]1951年1月，晋江县与泉州市分治，此地划入泉州市城区临江区，下设紫江、隘南、溪亭、溪滨、新桥五街。[3]1955年3月改设第一街道；1960年7月街道办事处撤销，改设临江人民公社，又析出5街，共10街。[3]1961年12月，笋江大队由满堂红公社划归临江公社。[3]1980年8月撤销人民公社，恢复街道建制。[3]

1996年，跃进村委会改为居委会；2002年3月，各居委会整合为现行的7个社区。[3]

经济[edit]

街道以古城文创、电商产业和总部经济为主要支柱。三大市场分别是幸福鞋业电商市场、义全机电市场与伍堡装潢装饰市场，辖区外也有电商总部基地。[1]

文化[edit]

街道先后获得多项荣誉称号，其中有「全国百家示范乡镇（街道）工会」「全国科普示范社区」「福建省先进基层党组织」和「福建省安全社区」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

天后宫于南宋庆元二年（1196年）初建，当时赐额“顺济”，明永乐年间改称天妃宫，清康熙十九年改为天后宫，供奉妈祖。[5][6]

德济门遗址是泉州古城的南门遗址。2001年经考古发掘后，遗址中宋、元、明、清各时期的遗存层层叠压，其始建时间为南宋绍定三年（1230年）。[7]两处遗迹都在天后路一带，维基百科将二者均列于隘南社区。[5]

李贽故居位于新桥社区万寿路123号，原为明代思想家李贽少年时的居所，是两进三开间的民房，占地约495平方米，1985年10月列为福建省文物保护单位。[5][8]

富美宫始建于明正德年间（1506年至1521年），主祀西汉名臣萧望之，清光绪七年（1881年）迁至现址。[9]

顺济桥遗址是跨越晋江的古桥遗存，南宋嘉定四年（1211年）始建，现存桥墩11个，2020年增补为福建省文物保护单位。[10]

宝海庵在厂口街后山，北宋雍熙四年（987年）开始兴建，原称宝林院，清顺治年间重建后改称宝海庵，为泉州市级文物保护单位。[11][13]

来远驿遗址在聚宝街车桥头一带。明永乐三年（1405年）在泉州市舶司之内设立来远驿，用以接待琉球等国贡使，民间称“琉球馆”。明成化八年（1472年）市舶司迁往福州，来远驿随之废止。1984年由泉州市文物管理委员会竖碑标示。[12]

博雅地名网另列有奉督抚两院示禁碑（清代石刻，市级文物保护单位，在新桥社区）和修理南涂二关外水利碑（清代石刻，市级文物保护单位，在隘南社区），并将富美古渡头、车桥头系列碑刻列为辖区文物古迹。[2][4][13]
