海清社区由原海清、新华两个居委会整合而成，取「海清」为名，居委会成立于2002年3月25日[1]。辖区北界承天巷，东界南俊巷，西邻新华北路，南临新门街[1]。

文化遗存[edit]

鲤城黄氏宗祠位于海清社区，为清代建筑，列为市级文物保护单位[1]。辖区内的花巷天主教堂建于1926年，占地1550多平方米，钟楼高28米，可容纳千余人举行仪式[2]。
