紫云社区位于洪田镇中心区，由洪田乡的洪田居民委员会发展而来。[1] 社区名称取自镇内的紫云山。[2] 此地原为1991年12月设立的洪田居民委员会，2005年才改用现名。[3] 2024年7月，社区被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
