高增村位于大湖镇境内，距永安城区约28公里。村名的来历是由两个自然村合并而成。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村落始建于宋朝。宋代至明代这一带隶属沙县，编为二十七都；景泰三年（1452年）建永安县后，仍在二十七都之内。[1]
民国时属岭后乡，1950年划入第三区大湖乡，1951年改回岭后乡，1955年至1956年间归大湖、贡川两区的岭后乡，1958年10月起属大湖公社。1984年才设立村民委员会，隶属大湖乡；1992年改属大湖镇。[1]
