坂头村在大湖镇东南部，离大湖集镇约2公里。村名取自村子坐落于山头之上的地势。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村落始建于明末清初。明清时期村子归永安县二十七都，民国时属大湖乡。1951年至1956年间，村子在大湖、贡川两区的管辖之间变动，1958年并入大湖人民公社。[1]

1984年村子仍归大湖乡管辖；1992年组建坂头村村民委员会，村名一直沿用，此后村子归大湖镇管辖。[1]
