岩下村位于贡川镇西北部，与三明市莘口镇相邻。[1]

村名取自所在处一片石岩的下方。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村落始建于元代。永安设县于明景泰三年（1452年），此前这里归沙县二十六都，设县后归永安县二十六都。[1][2]

民国年间属贡川乡。1958年10月编入贡川人民公社，1984年村委会设立，同年2月起属贡川镇。[1][2]

村庄由岩下、石马两个自然村组成，共有3个村民小组。[1]
