下螺村在西洋镇西北边，属永安市革命老区村，距西洋集镇约6公里。[1]

村落在山脚下，房屋呈圆圈状向外展开，村名由此而来。2024年7月，该村被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年改设下螺村，成立村民委员会，2007年建成办公大楼。此前，明清时期属永安二十八都，民国时期归西洋乡。1951年9月划入西洋区小螺乡，1958年10月编入西洋公社下螺大队，1962年1月划入小螺公社，1966年2月复归西洋公社。[1]
