蚌口村在西洋镇西北部，东面与葛州、福庄相接，南面与小螺、林田相邻，距永安市城区约14公里，距西洋集镇约8.5公里。[1]

村名原为“龙湖村”，因地形似蚌、村民聚居于蚌口一处，改称蚌口。[2]

2021年11月，蚌口村获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。2021年，该村被列为「省级乡村振兴试点村」；2024年，蚌口村获评「省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1][2][3]2024年7月，该村又被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

该村始建于明代。明清两代属永安二十八都，民国时属永安县西洋乡，1950年归西洋区西洋乡，1951年改属第六区福庄乡。1958年10月并入西洋人民公社，1984年2月设立蚌口村民委员会，归西洋镇政府管理。[1]

经济[edit]

村内以粮食种植为主，柑桔、水蜜桃等水果为辅，另有电站、养鸭场和一处休闲山庄。[1][2]
