葛州村在西洋镇北边，被列为永安市革命老区村的一个。离永安市城区约11公里，离西洋集镇约5公里。[1]

村名的来历是村址靠近葛州溪。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年2月设葛州村民委员会，归西洋镇政府管辖。此前，该村明清属永安二十八都，民国时归永安县西洋乡福庄堡。1950年归西洋区西洋乡福庄堡，1951年改属福庄乡福庄堡。1958年10月，该地隶属于西洋人民公社的福庄大队，1962年从福庄大队分出一支，另设葛州大队；1978年原红星大队与之合并。[1]
