社区成立于八十年代初期，辖区内的南塔是这一名称的来源。[1]

地理环境[edit]

社区占地约0.71平方千米，设2个网格，据2023年12月发布的介绍，有住户2436户、6398人，辖区企事业单位13家。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区内的登云塔又称南塔，是永安市级文物保护单位，1984年列入首批名单。[2]

「红军攻城战斗旧址」（南塔）被列入「三明市第一批红色文化遗址名录」，定为市级。[3]

文化[edit]

社区先后获得「全国五四红旗团支部」「全国青年文明社区」「国家地震安全示范社区」等3项国家级荣誉，另有19项省级荣誉和30余项市县级荣誉。[1]

社区推行「1443」工作机制，设立了「红色邻里驿站」，并以网格化方式推进平安建设。[1]
