燕南街道是福建省三明市永安市下辖的街道，位于永安市区南部，1989年12月从燕江镇分设而成。[2][3]目前辖9个社区居委会和8个村民委员会。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

街道名称来自它位于城区南部，永安的别称是“燕城”，故称燕南。[3]明景泰三年（1452年）永安设县，城内设有太平坊。[3]

1940年城区改设燕江镇，1984年8月燕江镇改设镇人民政府。[3]1989年12月，燕江镇分出燕南街道。[2][3]

1991年茅坪乡分出了黄历街道，2002年黄历街道并入本街道。[3]

地理环境[edit]

街道面积为64.3平方千米，在永安城区的南面。[2][3]它东与燕东街道、上坪乡相接，南邻西洋镇，西与燕西街道、洪田镇毗连，北面是燕东、燕北两个街道。[2]

巴溪河流经街道，五四社区西侧临河，黄历村内也有这条河穿过。[8][9]街道各社区、村都列有避灾点。[5]

经济[edit]

街道近郊的村庄以农业为主，吉峰片发展蔬菜基地，埔岭、桂口片种植花卉苗木，永浆村有草莓种植。[4]

人口民族[edit]

2011年末，街道户籍总人口为52803人。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

南塔社区辖区内有登云塔，又称南塔，是永安市级文物保护单位，1984年列入首批名单。[6]

同在南塔社区的「红军攻城战斗旧址」（南塔）被列入「三明市第一批红色文化遗址名录」，定为市级。[6][7]
