燕西街道是福建省三明市永安市下辖的街道，位于永安市区西部，街道办事处设在燕西中山路189号。[3]

永安城区旧称「燕城」，城西一带因此称燕西，街道由此得名。[2]

2023年，街道辖6个社区居委会和9个村民委员会。百度百科依据2020年6月的情况所载为5个社区，之后社区数有所增加。[4][1]

历史沿革[edit]

明景泰三年（1452年）永安建县，今燕西一带属县城内的太平坊。[1][2]

1935年此地编为城关一区，1940年改称燕江镇。1950年起此地为城关区公所辖区，1958年10月划归先锋（城关）人民公社，1984年8月重设燕江镇人民政府。[2]

1989年12月，由燕江镇析出设立燕西街道；2002年，吉山乡并入街道。[1][2]

截至2011年末，街道户籍总人口为29748人。[1]

经济[edit]

博雅地名网列出的街道特产有永安黄椒、吉山老酒、贡川草席和闽笋干等。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

市级文物保护单位中，凌霄塔（又名北塔）在北塔社区的北塔公园内，于1984年首批公布；北陵摩崖石刻和东方月位于吉山村，于2000年第二批公布。[5]

国家级的永安抗战旧址群于2013年列入第七批全国重点文物保护单位，旧址分布在城区、吉山村和文龙村三处，萃园在吉山村，复兴堡在文龙村。[5][6]
