地理环境[edit]
村子属于武夷山中脉，平均海拔约850米。从五龙山往下看，山坳起伏，被比作“五龙戏珠”。都溪河源头由东向西穿过村域，村子北面紧邻乡政府所在地。[1]
人口[edit]
村子下辖9个自然村，在籍548户，共2286人，其中党员61人。[2]
经济[edit]
村里的劳动力约有75%外出务工、经商或办厂，在家的村民以农业和养殖为主。作物有水稻、莲子、烟叶、毛竹、茶叶和油茶，养殖有猪、牛、鸡、鸭，也有梅花鹿。村中有两家专业合作社，分别从事生猪养殖和油茶种植。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
宋元时期村子属孝义乡，明初属西区。解放前这里是新安乡的中畲保。新中国成立后，1950年建中畲乡政府，之后经历乡人民委员会、生产大队等建制，1984年才设立村民委员会。[1]
土地革命时期，村中设立过乡级和县级苏维埃政府，有67人在这一时期牺牲为烈士。开国少将钟池也出自此村。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
五龙山古山寨位于村中，县政府网称其号称「八闽第一寨」。[4]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，村子被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2024年7月，村子又被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1][3]
