均口镇在建宁县南端，与泰宁、宁化、明溪三县相接，离县城约二十五公里。县政府网站把镇内的「闽江正源」视作闽江的起点，并写明闽江发端于境内严峰山西南麓。[1][2]

镇内多山，主要水道有七条。镇上获得的省级称号有「省级旅游休闲集镇」「省级乡村治理示范镇」「省级商务特色镇」「省级林下经济重点乡镇」，另有「全国绿色矿山」「国家农村产业融合发展示范园」「国家级农业旅游示范点」「国家级闽江源湿地公园」四项国家级称号。[1]

2014年6月，「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号授予本镇；2020年12月，经省级爱国卫生主管部门核定，本镇为「福建省卫生乡镇」。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地古称「军口」，北宋建隆元年（960）属南区。因早年设过战营，置有军事机构军口巡检司，后来写作「均口」，两字读音相近。这一说法出自县政府网站。博雅地名网的说法是，明朝洪武十三年（1380）才在此置军口巡检司，两处的年代不一致。[1][2]

解放前，这里称宁安乡与丰安乡。1956年设均口区，1958年组建均口人民公社，1984年改设为乡。1972年，伊家等七个大队划出，单独设立了伊家公社。[2]

1997年8月撤销乡建制，并入镇一级，成立均口镇人民政府。[2]

革命历史[edit]

1934年，第五次反「围剿」期间，建宁南部设立均口特区，并组建特区游击队司令部。此后该部与闽赣第二作战区合并，编成闽赣十二团。苏区时期牺牲的革命烈士有33人，全镇13个村都被认定为革命老区基点村。[1]

地理环境[edit]

镇内东南方向的等比山海拔1564米，是境内的最高点，海拔千米以上的山峰共有11座。气候属亚热带海洋性季风型，平均气温在11℃至17℃之间，年降水量约1700至2000毫米。[3]

浦梅铁路穿镇而过，莆炎高速在修竹村一带设有互通口，省道在境内纵贯，交通条件较好。[1]

经济[edit]

烟叶种植的面积在全县居首。近年来，食用菌、荷蟹、林下中草药等农产也发展起来，其中一处莲田立体种养大闸蟹基地为全省首个。[1]

镇内开采的饰面用花岗岩矿山，规模居全省第二；另有以竹制品加工为主的国家高新技术企业。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

修竹荷苑在修竹村，2005年开始兴建，占地约1000亩，以莲花为主题。园内收集了一百多个荷花品种，建莲也在其中，并设有中国建莲文化馆，夏季荷花连片盛开。县政府网站称它是全省唯一的荷花主题国家级农业旅游示范点，景区被评为「国家3A级旅游景区」。[1][4]

均口村桐斜一带保存着「中共均口特区委员会旧址谢氏祖屋」与「均口特区游击队司令部旧址」两处苏区革命遗址，都与1934年设立均口特区有关。[5][6]
