城关村地处濉溪河畔，村名的来由是古时此地位于建宁县城关卡之内。[1]

村中以蔬菜种植为主，据博雅地名网所载，村内百口莲塘为历代贡品建莲的发源地。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年11月，村庄获评「2021年福建省卫生村」。2024年7月，村庄先后获「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」称号，又入选「2021-2023年三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
