余地村位于开善乡南部，与将乐县万全乡接壤，距乡政府约8公里，距县城约30公里。村名因余氏在此开基定居而来。博雅地名网记载，余氏于明代最早在此落户，此后其他姓氏陆续迁入，形成多姓同居的村落。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
宋元时期，此地归崇礼乡高平里管辖，属开善上保。民国时期属南乡，1934年改属三区，1940年归开永乡。[3]
解放后，1950年底至1951年底设儒坊乡政府，1956年并入余坊乡，1958年另设生产大队。1984年9月改为村民委员会，隶属开善乡。[3]

经济[edit]
村内山林面积较大，毛竹林有数千亩，盛产竹笋、冬笋与笋干，还出产香菇、红菇等野生菌类。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
余地杨公庙（清）位于余地自然村，2013年文物普查名录列于余地行政村名下。[4]
荣誉[edit]
2024年7月，余地村被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
