余源村坐落在乡境东北，离乡政府约4公里。县政府网2023年发布的文字写作余源村，博雅地名网则记作余元村，其下的自然村有余源、布元、邹家塅等。[5][1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代至清代，此地归崇礼乡高平里的开善上保管辖，民国时期分属南乡与三区。1940年归开永乡，1950年底至1951年底设乡政府。[3]

1956年并入余坊乡，1958年从余坊分出一个生产大队。1959年划归儒坊公社，1980年改属开善公社，1984年9月转为村民委员会，仍在开善乡之内。[3]

经济[edit]

村内的毛竹与锥栗是农民收入的重要来源。[2]

荣誉[edit]

博雅地名网载，2024年1月，该村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。中央文明委于2017年11月把「第五届全国文明村镇」称号给了该村。[1]

县政府网称，洋坑村和余源村同被评为「无毒乡村」守护行动示范村。[5]

名胜古迹[edit]

余元佛殿宫（清）属余元自然村，2013年文物普查名录将其列在余元行政村名下。[4]
