历史沿革[edit]
宋代至清代，此地归崇礼乡高平里的开善上保管辖。民国初年并入南乡。1931年，苏维埃政权在此设立儒坊乡苏维埃政府，隶属大均区，持续至1934年。[3]
解放后一度设儒坊乡政府。1956年经并乡后，村名中的「儒」与「余」在本地方言里同音，于是此处又写作「余坊」。1984年9月，改设儒坊村民委员会，沿用至今。[3]
经济[edit]
村两委定下「稳粮增烟扩竹」的产业思路，村中种烟，发展毛竹，并种有锥栗与雷公藤。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
据2013年文物普查名录，村内有上坑伍宁墓（清）与上坑青云坊（明），上坑是村中的一个自然村。儒坊江氏祖屋、士亮公祖屋与士毅公祖屋也在本村，三处均为清代古建筑。[5]
著名人物[edit]
明代教育家伍宁出生于上坑，生于1386年，卒于1467年，字则清。他曾任浙江淳安县教谕，其学生商辂后来连中三元。[5][6]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，儒坊村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2022年10月，村子经福建省农业农村厅认定，列入「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。2024年7月，村子获「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」的命名。[1]
