梅口村位于大金湖之畔，是梅口乡的行政村，村名沿用原驻地的名称。1979年池潭水库建设以后，村内全部为移民。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村名的来历是：原驻地位于两溪汇合处，周围村落散布如梅花，村名由此而来。[1]

村辖3个村民小组，有86户325人，此数字未注明统计年份。村地距乡政府所在地8公里。[1]

人口民族[edit]

1979年池潭水库建设，村落因此搬迁，全村均为移民。之后，1997年与2008年两次搬迁居住地。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时，村地归崇礼乡大田里梅口保管辖；民国初至1931年属南乡。[2]

苏维埃时期（1931至1934年）设梅口乡苏维埃政府，归梅口区；1934年6月划归三区，1940年改入弋梅乡。解放后，1950年底至1951年底设梅口乡政府，隶属三区；1956年归弋口区，1958年改为生产大队，隶属红专公社，1959年划归梅口公社。1967年分出一部分另设生产大队，仍属梅口公社。1984年9月12日改设村民委员会，归梅口乡管辖。[2]

文化[edit]

荣誉方面，2021年11月，梅口村获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号，由福建省爱卫办命名。2022年10月，村被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。2024年7月，被命名为「2023年度三明市达标六无村（社区）」。[1]

梅口村是泰宁县第一批地名保护名录所列的百年以上古村落地名之一。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内的文物古迹有梅口虎头寨寨址（古遗址，宋至清）、梅口黄石寨（明代古遗址）与梅口滴水岩石刻（年代不详），三者均列入泰宁县第三次全国文物普查登记的不可移动文物。[3]
