汾信村位于新桥乡东南部，北靠岭下村，东与上青乡接壤，南邻杉城镇调洋村，西与坑坪村相连。村部设在冢丘，海拔650米，离乡所在地新桥10公里。全村人均耕地在全乡最多，山林相对较少。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元年间，汾信归绥城乡清泰里的福兴保；明洪武元年（1368年）起改入福兴上保。[2]

1931年至1934年苏维埃时期，村里的张信地设乡苏维埃政府，隶属新桥区。此后1934年6月起归五区管辖，1940年归瑞田乡，1941年转属安仁乡，1944年改属崇仁乡，1948年又归安仁乡。[2]

新中国成立后，1950年12月起至1951年12月止期间设汾信乡政府，归第四区管辖。1958年起成为汾信生产大队，归上游公社统辖，次年转入朱口公社，1961年划归新桥公社。1984年9月1日起改称村民委员会，属新桥乡。[2]

经济[edit]

村民以农业为主，是全乡粮食主产村之一，烤烟种植面积较大，产量高、品质好，是全乡烤烟生产的主要村之一。[1]

文化[edit]

汾水自然村在20世纪60年代以前生产土纸，现在仍有农户制作斗笠。据百度百科所载，全乡只有该村还保留着土纸与斗笠这两项传统手工艺。[1][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

张信地自然村村口有20余亩百年以上的古树群落，保护完好。[1]

大坊廊桥建于明代，在大坊自然村，列入县文物普查名录。[4]
