红地村位于下渠镇西部，村名原作“黄地”，1967年改为“红地”[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

宋至元代，村域属崇礼乡高平里的永兴保，明至清代改属永兴下保；民国初至1931年仍属永兴下保，归南乡管辖。1931年6月至1934年7月设为大湖乡，归大湖区；1934年编入大湖联保，隶属三区；1936年改入西南联保，归一区。1940年设大湖保，隶属三区开永乡，1941年改属一区开永乡，1943年回到开永乡，1944年划归弋梅乡。解放后，1951年隶属三区，1956年并入下渠乡，1958年隶属红旗公社，1962年划归下渠公社。1980年从原大队划出设红地大队，1984年改为红地村，2018年11月归属下渠镇[2]。

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2024年7月，村被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」[1]。
