渠口村位于泰宁县中部，村名取自所辖自然村“渠口”，村庄位于大渠溪口，故名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

宋至元代，村域属崇礼乡高平里的永兴保，明清分属永兴上保与永兴下保；民国初至1931年分别归两保管辖，隶属南乡。1931年后，村域一部分划入大均区，一部分划入大湖区；1934年分属永南与大湖两个联保，都归三区管辖。1936年至1941年间，村域部分归一区西南乡，部分归三区或一区的开永乡。1944年，村域部分改属炉峰镇，部分改属弋梅乡。解放后，1951年村域分属两个乡；1954年曾设渠口乡，1956年并入他乡，1962年设渠口大队，划归下渠公社。1984年改设渠口村，2018年11月归属下渠镇[2]。

地理环境[edit]

耕地2160亩，林地6979亩，土地总面积9139亩；村域面积6.09平方公里[1]。

文化[edit]

本村于2022年10月被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」，认定单位是福建省农业农村厅[1]。
