下渠镇位于福建省三明市泰宁县东南部，距县城约10公里，是离城区最近的乡镇之一。东邻将乐县余坊乡，北接杉城镇，西与梅口乡相邻，南与开善乡相连。境内有渠里溪、仁寿溪等溪流，田园与山林并存[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

宋至清代，今镇域分属崇礼乡的高平里和大田里。民国时期主要属西南乡，一部分先后隶属开永乡、炉峰镇和弋梅乡。1931年6月至1934年7月间，此地设有大均区（驻戴家坊）与大湖区（驻上许垄，后迁仕坑），分别辖6个与11个乡苏维埃政府[3]。

解放后，本地一度分属一区和三区，1956年下半年部分地区划入三区，改称弋口区。1958年属红旗公社，1961年10月从城关公社分出设下渠公社；1984年9月起称下渠乡，2018年11月乡制改为镇制[3]。

镇名的来历：驻地原名“下衢”，指过去县城通往东南大道必经之处，后因谐音改写为“下渠”[4]。

据2023年县政府网站，全镇面积约131平方千米，其中耕地1456.11公顷，林地10833公顷，森林覆盖率81.65%[1]。百度百科载面积为126.9平方千米[2]，博雅地名网载为129.7平方千米[4]。

人口民族[edit]

第七次全国人口普查登记，2020年11月1日零时常住人口为4785人[2]。县政府网站另载全镇有2742户、约1.08万人口，未注明统计年份[1]。

经济[edit]

农业以水稻、烤烟为主，兼产杂粮、茶果和食用菌[4]。镇内种植杂交水稻制种，也有烟叶种植[1]。工业方面，县政府网站称已初步形成以材料工业为主的产业结构[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

县政府网站称，镇内保存有晴云阁宝峰、仕坑古树群、香花墩古村落与仁寿古廊桥等历史古迹[1]。

文化[edit]

2012年12月，镇获环境保护部命名，称号为「2010—2011年度国家级生态乡镇」[4]。2018年，镇被评为「省级文明乡镇」[1]。2021年2月，下渠镇列入福建省「2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单[4]。
