朱口村是朱口镇的驻地，村名来自驻地南面水口右侧的一处红色朱石崖。[1]

村内的青云塔始建于明崇祯五年（1632年），仿楼阁式，砖石木结构，七层八面，高21米。[1]

2015年10月，朱口村入选「福建省第一批省级传统村落」；2021年4月，被获评「2020年度福建省乡村振兴实绩突出村」；2021年11月，被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2025年11月，被确定为「2025年度省级一村一品专业村」，产品为朱口小籽花生。[1]
