石辋村以驻地村名，村庄四周为丹霞地貌，山地与谷地相互交错，形成网状的地形，因此得名「石辋」。[1]

村内保存着宋代房屋两栋；距村两公里有南石堡遗址；距村一公里处的狮子岩为明万历年间所建，岩洞左侧刻有「狮子岩」三字，落款咸丰三年（1853年）。[2]

2021年11月，石辋村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2024年7月，列入三明市六无达标村（2023年度）名录。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时期，石辋人口兴盛，村中曾设圩市，当地有朱口圩集由石辋迁去的说法。[2]

1931年至1934年苏维埃时期，石辋设乡苏维埃政府，隶属朱口区；1934年6月改属二区。1958年，石辋生产大队自将溪分出设立，隶属红星公社。1984年9月，石辋大队改为石辋村民委员会。[3]
