和平社区属杉城镇，在县城西部，环城路与归化路交汇处，1996年4月成立居委会，2003年4月改为社区居民委员会。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年底至1951年底，县城区设有民主、水南、胜一、胜二、和平等五个街（乡）政府，和平为其中之一。1958年这些政府改为生产大队，1984年9月改属杉城镇。[2]

1996年4月设和平居委会，2003年4月改为和平社区居民委员会。[2]

社区东起肖家巷，南临环城路，北靠芦峰山，西接工业园区。社区有8个共建单位，居民小组10个，文明小区1个。[1]

社区获县级「文明单位」「文明社区」「残疾人工作先进单位」「民主法制示范社区」「先进基层党组织」「综治工作先进单位」「关工委先进单位」「老年协会工作先进单位」等称号，并获三明市总工会「模范职工之家」称号。[1]
