溪南村位于金溪南岸，村名由此而来，水南镇镇政府驻本村[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

明代此地属水南都；清代归水南都上水南福星坊，民国初期仍照清代的建制[1]。1934年起，它归第一区署管辖，编入桃溪联保；1939年转隶古镛镇[1]。1950年划入新南乡，1952年并入城关公社的水南大队；1959年成为水南农场的一部分，1970年改由水南公社管辖[1]。

1979年至1998年1月间，村地是水南农场的第三管理区；1998年水南建镇，村名改为溪南村民委员会[1]。2005年1月，镇政府由水南村迁入本村[2]。

溪南村于2022年12月获福建省爱国卫生运动委员会授予「2022年福建省卫生村」称号[1]。
