坊头村是万安镇的一个行政村，村址高出孙坊一带，村名由此而来，后来多称“坊头”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明弘治十八年（1505）此地始设坊头村，归隆溪下都；清乾隆三十一年（1766）仍为隆溪下都的坊头村。[2]

1931至1934年间，村内设坊头乡苏维埃政府。1935年，此地设坊头保，归第三区万安联保；1939年起隶万安镇。1945年11月转属万安乡，至解放前仍称坊头保。[2]

1951年11月此地改称第五区坊头乡，1955年10月划归万安区坊头乡。1958年组建坊头大队，归红旗人民公社；次年9月划入万安公社。1984年9月，改设坊头村民委员会，属万安镇。[2]

荣誉方面：2020年12月，村入选「2020年度福建省“一村一品”示范村」，产品为肉鸭；2021年11月，获福建省爱卫办命名的「2021年福建省卫生村」；同年12月，列「2021年度福建省森林村庄」；福建省农业农村厅于2022年10月认定本村为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
