下畲村是八字桥乡的行政村，位于乡境西部，东临管前镇，西接坑头村，南与大田县相连，北接后曲村。村子位于五峰崎山脚下，距乡政府约10千米。[1][2]

据博雅地名网，此村古时由畲族人家开基定居。[1]

村落与姓氏[edit]

村落分上洋、中洋、下洋三个自然村，三处村落排成「品」字形。村中以郑姓为主，明朝时两位始祖先后迁入，一位定居留地洋，一位定居祖厝洋，两支后裔房屋交错而建，共同谋划村中事务。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年定名下畲村之前，这里于1979年11月归八字桥公社，1958年曾设大队并归管前公社。解放初属第八区，明清时期属一都。[1][3]

人文[edit]

清朝末年，村中有三人考中秀才。解放后，村中有三位正科级干部和五位副科级干部。[2]

革命与抗匪[edit]

村中历来有抗击土匪、保卫家乡的传统，现存三处当年抵御土匪的旧寨遗址，分别称龙身仑寨、彭罗岩寨和彭溪岭寨。[2]

解放初期，村民兵参与了清匪斗争，有数名民兵牺牲，后被列为革命烈士。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

前尾洋厝是一座木结构四合院，屋顶燕尾翘起，梁柱门窗雕刻精细，两侧厅堂的墙面用瓷碗碎片拼出花草鸟兽图案。[2]

唐朝时，村内彭溪炉垅一带曾建炉炼铜，现存炼铜炉遗址一处。[2]

荣誉称号[edit]

2021年11月，下畲村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

2024年7月，下畲村被命名为「2023年度三明市达标六无村（社区）」，同月又被确定为「2021-2023年三明市达标六无村（社区）」。[1]
