光明村是汤川乡的第一大行政村，也是乡政府驻地所在的村庄。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村名沿用原农业社「光明」之名，寓意社会主义道路前途光明。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代归尤溪二十都管辖，民国时属汤川乡。1952年设光明农业社，1958年组建光明大队，1984年改称光明村并设村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子位于戴云山脉北部山区，南邻下井，北接丘山村与溪尾乡长华村，东北侧挨着溪滨与赤墓，西边是秀峤村。距县城56公里，距省城138公里。[2]

林地21683亩，耕地2944亩，合计土地24627亩，村落面积约2.5平方公里。[2]

人口与民族[edit]

村民均为汉族，共十二个姓氏，主要聚居在吴厝、北洋、上下寨、旧街四处自然村。博雅地名网载为520户、1940人（男1008人、女932人），共18个村民小组，未注统计年份。[2]

经济[edit]

村民多种蔬菜，主要是茭白、荷兰豆、甜椒与莴苣。另有茶叶、杨梅、小径笋，出产汤川大米。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中现存清代古民居二十多座，土楼十多座，祠堂、古井与亭台楼阁不少。[2]

村中原有一座天后宫，是汤川诸庙中规模最大的一座。元末，户部侍郎卓子立主持按金銮殿格式兴建，明代吴厝的吴举公曾予增修。该宫在1966年文革中被毁，现于原址按旧制重建，已初具规模。[2]

荣誉[edit]

该村于2021年11月获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]

2021年12月，光明村被确定为「2021年度福建省一村一品示范村（蔬菜）」。[1]

2021年4月，光明村被命名为「2021年三明市民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
