地名与历史沿革[edit]
地名来由是村前有一片平坦地盘，身后山峰高耸，洋面中间有一条小溪流过，故名。[1]
明清时此地隶属尤溪县十九都。民国时归香胡保管辖，解放初成为香胡乡。1958年划入香胡大队，1979年与之脱开，另立岳溪大队；1984年转为岳溪村，设村民委员会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村委会驻于岳溪自然村，海拔820米，与乡政府相距28.5公里。村中有一条通往山兜的村级公路，可接入闽尤国防公路。[2]
森林覆盖率为68%，村内已探明的矿产有铅、铁、铜三种。[2]
