溪坪村位于尤溪县东南部，与闽清县交界，属汤川乡。村中分溪坪、苍霞两个自然村，居民以胡氏为主。[1]

全村处在高山盆地之上，海拔约880米，属亚热带季风性气候，光热与降水条件较好。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

地名的来由是这里地势平缓开阔，两条小溪在村中汇合，水流轻缓几乎没有声响，故称溪坪。[1][2]

村子在明清两代隶属尤溪县十九都，民国年间这一带称溪山保，1949年后归溪山乡。1958年组建溪山大队，1960年由它析出溪坪大队，1984年才改为溪坪村并设村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子东邻闽清叶洋村，南连山岭村，西接岳溪村，北毗山兜村。[1]

林地16779亩之外，耕地为2473亩，合计22031亩土地，村内地貌呈高山盆地与平原小区的样子。[2]

年平均气温16.5℃，年日照约1680小时，年降水量1356毫米，无霜期275天。耕地适宜种水稻、烟叶与蔬菜，山地适宜茶叶、油茶、果树与毛竹，也能培植云苓等中草药。[2]

人口与姓氏[edit]

村民以胡氏单姓为主，全村分为13个村民小组。博雅地名网所载为257户、1055人（女性489人），未注统计年份。[1][2]
