中仙镇位于尤溪县东南部，东南面与福州市永泰县相接，南面与泉州市德化县相邻，是三县交界的山区乡镇。2021年由中仙乡撤乡设镇，镇政府仍驻中仙村。[1][5]
2024年镇下辖19个行政村，地形以中低山为主，境内森林覆盖率据博雅地名网所载达78%以上，莆炎高速、厦沙高速与534国道穿境而过。[2][6]
名称[edit]
镇名的来历，据博雅地名网所载：乡政府驻地中仙村夹在旧称上村（今上仙村）与下村（今华仙村）之间，地名由此而来，后因本地方言读音相近，写作中仙。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代，今镇域大部分属常平乡的和顺里。明清时期，这里分属尤溪县的二十一、二十二都，另有二十三、二十五、二十六都的一部分。[2][1]
1934年此地属尤溪县第四区。1952年，从第五区清华乡与第七区仙林乡各析出一部分保（村），组成尤溪县第十一区，1955年9月改称中仙区。[2]
1958年设东方红人民公社，次年改称中仙人民公社，1984年9月公社改为中仙乡。[2]
2021年撤乡设镇，以原乡的行政区域设立中仙镇，政府驻地不变。省政府的批复（闽政文〔2021〕179号）同意此事，三明市政府随后发出通知（明政函〔2021〕46号），县政府于2021年7月26日下发通知。[5] 博雅地名网与维基百科记撤乡设镇的日期为2021年5月24日。[2][4]
地理环境[edit]
镇域以中低山地形为主，据博雅地名网所载，平均海拔约650米，最高处海拔1215米，最低处约240米。[2]
镇境北面一侧与汤川乡相接，西北通向台溪乡，西面则靠坂面镇；南与西南一带和德化县杨梅乡相连，东南与永泰县盖洋乡为邻。距尤溪县城约64千米。[1]
辖区面积的记载不一：博雅地名网记为375.24平方公里，百度百科记为375.15平方千米，两处均未注明年份。[2][1]

截至2019年末，镇户籍人口为39071人。[1] 博雅地名网另载常住人口1.7946万人，未注年份，口径与户籍人口不同。[2]

博雅地名网载，镇域已探明的矿产有金、银、铜、铁、煤与石灰石等。[2]
截至2019年末，镇内有工业企业32个，其中规模以上企业3个。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
竹峰村的「中共尤德永工委成立旧址」，又称竹峰得水堂，位于竹峰村57号，是县级文物保护单位。[8]
善邻村龙门场的古银杏群是镇内的一处古树景观，据博雅地名网所载已有700多年历史，现存142株（未注年份）。[11]
西华村的长发堂，地址在后垅仔113号，列入县政府2024年10月公布的第一批传统风貌建筑名录。[7]
著名人物[edit]
中仙村出身的池钟瀛为美国核物理学家。[9] 博雅地名网载，酒泉卫星发射中心副主任于本城将军出自本镇。[3]
竹峰村的廖怀玉曾任尤溪县委第一任书记，后任福州市教育局视察员；同村的廖逢卜为革命烈士，1958年被中央人民政府追认。[10]
