村子位于多山多岩石的地方，因而得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1984年，山岩大队改为山岩村，设村民委员会。[1]
明清时山岩地属尤溪二十九都。解放初此地设山岩乡，1958年设山岩大队。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2024年7月，山岩村获2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区）称号，同月另获2021至2023年三明市达标「六无」村（社区）认定。[1]
