华园村是坂面镇的行政村，村名几经改换，1981年定为华园。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村子最初称黄宅，后因王姓迁入、人口增多，改称王宅。1981年因与同县另一镇的王宅同名，改名华园。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1984年，此地由华园大队改为华园村，设村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
明清时此地属尤溪二十七都，民国时称王宅保。解放后初期归大坪乡，1958年设王宅大队，属坂面公社。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2024年7月，华园村获2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区）称号。[1]
