吾园村是坂面镇的行政村。村中原多梧桐，村名由“梧”与“吾”音近而来。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村中原有不少梧桐树，因“梧”与“吾”读音相近，便写作“吾”，成为村名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年改称吾园村，设村民委员会。此前，1960年自坂面大队析出，设吾园大队，隶属坂面公社。[1]

吾园一带旧属二十八都，民国时称吾园保。解放后初期划归坂面乡管辖；1958至1959年间曾办坂面农场。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，吾园村获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]

2024年7月，吾园村获2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区）称号，同月另获2021至2023年三明市达标「六无」村（社区）认定。[1]
