新坑村是尤溪县西城镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区西部偏南，地处山间盆地，新坑溪贯穿全境。[1][3]
2015年10月，新坑村入选「福建省第一批省级传统村落」；2016年12月，列入「第四批中国传统村落」名录。[1]
2021年11月，新坑村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2024年7月，被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时期此地归尤溪县四都。民国时期划入新秀保，1949年10月，改设新秀乡，此后于1958年列为新秀大队。1961年，本村从新秀大队中划出，单设新坑大队；1984年改称新坑村，并设立村民委员会。[1]
姓氏宗族[edit]
村民均为永安贡川陈氏后裔，发祥至今已有600余年。[2][3]
名胜古迹[edit]
村中的陈氏宗祠建于清代嘉庆年间，其基座、围墙与旗杆等遗迹尚存。[2]
据百度百科，明清时期村中设有免费学堂，培育出40余名秀才，因而被称为「新坑书林」。[3]
