村名各取“下村林”与“源宅”两个自然村名中的一个字而成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时属尤溪二、三都；民国时为皇会、雁地保；解放初属纪洪乡。1959年单独设立林源大队，1984年起称林源村，村级组织为村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年12月，本村获评「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]

2024年7月，本村被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」，同月又被确定为「2021-2023年三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
