地名由来[edit]
相传宋代有一户官姓人家住在这里，门前开设圩场，赶圩的人便叫这里“官前”。旧时官吏势大，人们避讳“官”字，改用方言中音近的“管”字，于是称作管前。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
宋时这一带隶属常平乡的进溪里。明代划为一至三都；民国初年设区，管前列为第五区，1936年归入第三区，即新桥区。[1][4]
1940年设洪桥、马坪、管前三个乡，1943年改区为乡，另设纪洪与管沶两乡。解放后的1951年为第八区，1955年改名管前区，次年并入新桥区。[4]
1958年撤区并乡，改设马坪片；同年9月组建红专人民公社，即管前公社，1959年6月易名管前人民公社。1984年由社改乡，名为管前乡；1994年12月30日起改设管前镇。[1][4]
地理环境[edit]
镇域位于尤溪县西部。百度百科载面积为176.14平方千米，博雅地名网载为约179平方公里，两处均未注明年份。[1][3]
镇内的柳塘水库建于1977年至1979年间，总库容4400万立方米。[5]
人口民族[edit]
截至2019年末，全镇户籍人口为26893人。[1]
经济[edit]
金柑是镇内的主要特产，近年建成了金柑集散、科技展示和检测三个中心。[3]
文化[edit]
据博雅地名网，本镇历史上有八名进士、十名贡生。南宋刑部尚书卓文彬出自卓氏祖地九曲村。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
管前秀峰亭是镇内的一处景点，亭址在柳塘水库边的仙灵稽夕山上，详见柳塘村。[1][6]
荣誉[edit]
2014年6月，本镇获环境保护部颁授「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」。[2]
2021年2月，管前镇进入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]
2022年10月，省农业农村厅把管前镇列入「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[2]
