葛竹村位于尤溪县新阳镇，距镇政府约13公里、距城关约32公里，海拔620米，与大建、宝山、林尾、溪坂等村相邻。[1][2]

村名的由来：境内丛生葛竹草，故得此名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地明清时归尤溪五十都，解放前分属葛山保与纪乡保。1958年另立葛竹大队，1984年起改设葛竹村。[1][2]

人口与生计[edit]

全村744户，总人口3190人（博雅地名网所载，年份不详），村中以陈、黄、纪三姓人家为主。[2]

毛竹与茶叶是本村的特色，此外有油茶、油柰与芦柑；外出打工是家庭收入的主要来源。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，本村入选2020年福建省森林村庄名单；2021年11月，福建省爱卫办将其列为2021年福建省卫生村。[1]
