建新村位于尤溪县新阳镇北部，距镇区约2.5公里，平均海拔320米，辖4个自然村、26个村民小组。[1][2]

地名与历史[edit]

村名的由来：此地原属洋头乡，该乡分成三个大队后，以成绩突出的建新农业社为名，称建新大队，后改为建新村。[1]

明清时此地归五十都，解放初隶属洋头乡。1959年6月另立建新大队，1984年起改设建新村。[1][2]

人口与手工艺[edit]

全村576户，人口2870人（博雅地名网所载，年份不详），其中劳动力约1536人，外出务工约895人。[2]

各自然村各有手艺：呈祥的竹笼与棕底编织、陶器，东屏的竹器编制，双贵山的大小毛扫把。[2]

村中山地约10720亩，耕地约1928亩，林木覆盖率约52%。[2]
